Spiritual Vows Synopsis
The Hampton Farm was to be the sight of a wedding 120 years ago, but tragic events kept it from occurring. Now the family is once again gathered at the Hampton Farm. The focus of the family reunion quickly becomes a wedding that will take place in just two days. Will Victoria Hampton allow happiness to exist in a place where she has only known sadness and pain? Will the family be able to come together and make the Hampton Farm a place of love and joy? The Rogers and the Stevens will have to work quickly to resolve family issues that are over a century old in order to bring happiness to the present. P.L.O.T.T. Performers would like to take the opportunity to tell you a little about our film “Spiritual Vows.” The idea for the screenplay was born after a visit to the Faxon Farm in Seaman, Ohio. We were invited to the farm for a party and the ghost stories associated with the farm quickly became the topic of conversation. From these stories, Debbie Lawhorn wrote a short story based on a wedding that never took place and how that day would impact the present. The screenplay took approximately two weeks to write and edit. After the completion of the screenplay, we were in need of a cast and crew to put the story on film. We posted information about the film on local websites and we set up auditions for the various roles. We had our cast set and found our crew, Little Chicago Productions. One week later, we were filming “Spiritual Vows.” Filming took place on the weekend of July 17 and 18, 2010. We then focused on getting the score for the film. Within a week, we had our music. The following couple of weeks were dedicated to the editing process. The end product was submitted on Friday, August 13, 2010. We did all of this on a budget of $300. The majority of the budget was set aside for the food for the family reunion scene and for the food to feed the cast and crew. "Spiritual Vows" is our evidence that a dream, and hard work and dedication are the key to success!
